Advertising Master class...

1. Best idea?
The idea we have to be sales men. I think it is important to be able sell anything you are given in advertising whether you like the product or not. I also think it is important to be able to sell ourselves because it is an increasingly competitive market so we need to be able to make ourselves stand out.

2. The Idea you disagreed with most?
I disagreed with comments about the creative CV's being dead, whether it's being creative in terms of the outward look of the CV or the content I think it is important to stand out in anyway you can. This is because a CV is the first impression a company gets of you and there are a lot of similar in terms of grades so it is important to distinguish yourself.

3. What is your position on the debate about English Fluency?
I think English fluency is becoming more and more important. It is the business language of the world so it is important to be able to communicate, otherwise you immediately lose a huge percentage of potential customers. I also think it is important for our generation to learn languages such as Chinese and Arabic as we may have to business with those countries in the future as businesses expand.

4. What are you good at? where do you see yourself?
I'm good at selling ideas and products. I think I am also good at strategic planning because I have good instincts about ideas and who they will target in the most effective way. I also feel I can be good in communications. I see myself working in Advertising when i graduate, I would love to work in sports Advertising as I love sport. I would love to be a sports agent one day.

5. What was the idea that surprised you most?
The fact that they emphasised the importance of being able to speak fluent English even though they couldn't speak themselves was rather ironic I thought...Do as I say not as I do eh?

Rome Bus tour - Bad promotion example

They offered us a a 2 day bus ticket for 30 something euro but the 24hour bus ticket was 17 euro. There was no incentive for us to buy the 2day ticket as we could see all we wanted in the 24hours. In order for this to be successful they need to have a substantially cheaper offer to entice people to take the 2 day offer instead of the 24hours one.
